9/30/2010 (Thur) - Our Last Day in Bakersfield

We did very little today other than veg.  Ruth 'forced' us into playing a few games of 'Spinner Dominoes' and 'Yantzee'.  After getting beat yet again, Ruth and I went to the Win Go which is very similar to our Cosco and Sam's Club.  The big difference is that you do not have to be a member to purchase anything.  Prices seemed very reasonable and best of all it was right behind where Ruth lives so we walked.

Later in the day we went to Ruth's daughter's home for dinner.  Jim had not seen any of Ruth's children for quite some time so it was a fun time getting re-aquainted.  Found out that Tricia and her husband, Paul do a lot of hiking like in really long hikes like for weeks at a time.  Their kids go with them too.  In fact their daughter and Tricia did a marathon not long ago.  That would be running for 26 miles.  I saw a pic of when they finished and they did not even look tired.  Those people who stay in shape....ugh.  In talking to Tricia she mention a Mary H. who I knew right away.  Actually I knew Mary's whole family well.  Both of us were surprised when I started naming names and she knew them all.  I tell you we live in a lot smaller world than you think.

So around ten we left and came back to Ruths.  Another nice day but it is still hot.
