At around six tonight we left to go to the Broadway Palm for dinner and the play.

Red Carpet for Tenth Year Celebration
When we first arrived we were greated with the red carpet treatment because this was the tenth year Broadway Palms has been open. The mayor of Mesa got up and spoke for a few minutes about how much the community of Mesa appreciated the Palms. Inside the Palms most of the viewing area is filled with dinner tables and chairs. There is very little seating for those who just want to see the play but not have dinner. With white tablecloths and sparkling wine glasses it looked very festive. It was a nice start to the evening and was a perfect ending to Jim's day. Dinner was buffet style and both of us ate way more than needed but it was just so good. We were seated at a table for eight, and for some reason our entire table was from Michigan. Some were Yuppers from the upper peninsula while others were from a small town just outside of Holland. I'm sure it was not planned that way it just happened that way. While we were eating dinner they had entertainers walking around visiting with the guests. Jim had a very special guest visit him to help him celebrate his birthday. These folks were not in the play tonight but will be in the future. The play Sugar is a take off from Some Like it Hot. Very well done and we laughed and laughted.
Jim and Miss Diva Divine
And 'she' even sang Happy Birthday to Jim.

Anyway we really had a nice time and plan to attend another play but this one will not be until Dec. 30th. Hope it's as good as this one.
