Early this morning Jim called our insurance company in MI to have them set up a towing service to pick up the truck. He also called Ford garage and they told him to bring it in. So all that was left was to wait for the tow truck. It was an hour and a half late but none the less it arrived. That was pretty neat watching it being loaded onto this huge flat bed truck. Jim had to 'power' steer it onto the bed of the truck as there was no way to line it up with the bed of the truck because it did not run. Big truck, no power steering, equals hard work.
It is in the Ford garage now but we are fairly certain they will not get at it for a couple of days. They are full up with repair business. (Duh it's because they never fix anything right) Once again Jim told the service center what the truck has been doing for at least four years and how Ford never addressed the problem or should I say they never fixed the problem. He mentioned by name all the parts that might be the cause of the problem. The service center seemed surprised that Jim was so knowledgeable about the truck. Well they had not observed Jim for the last two days hunched over his computer reading everything he could find about the truck.
So onto other things. Jim and I talked it over and decided to cancel our Alaskan Cruise. We are 1200 miles away from Seattle and we would have had to rent a car just to get there. Then travel 1200 miles back to hopefully pick up the truck and 5th wheel. Just to much. For some reason when we booked this cruise we took out insurance. We will not get our money back but they gave us vouchers that are good up to two years for another cruise with Princess. That was totally fine with us. And since we are not going to Seattle we also decided not to do the west coast either. Once the truck is repaired we are heading south to Mesa, AZ.
We have rented a car. It's a little blue Ford Focus. Yea I'm not stranded anymore. We have rented a spot here in this RV park for a week. They gave us a week rate starting with the first day we arrived so that was nice of them. So things are much calmer now. Oh and the biggest of all is that the darn rain of the last two days has stopped. Puffy clouds are out and it's really quite pleasant.
We have not toured Minot but maybe tomorrow we may. We are still mulling over going to see our friends Joe and Kay in MT and will most likely do that. Well now with this cute little Focus the sky is the limit.
Can you tell I'm happier?
