From Malta, MT to Kalispell, MT (347 miles) Sept. 10th

Ever hear the expression, "raining on our parade."  Well that's exactly what is happening to us.  Last night it rained all night long stopping at 6:00am this morning.  Also we were about 150 feet from a railroad trestle and at 5:00am the trains started to cross that.  What a night!!  But with the rain not falling Jim was finally able to pack up without getting wet.  The truck started without any mishap at all so in no time we were on our way.

About half an hour later the rain parade started again. I think we have somehow hooked up with a black rain cloud that is following us where ever we go. It rained for perhaps two hours and finally we were able to leave it behind.
These were in every small town.

This would be a horse (I think)

This grain elevator is all of wood
All the little towns were like this, but much smaller.  Shelby, MT
You thought I was kidding about the black cloud!

My Barn Shot of the Day

The Montana I pictured in my mind started to appear first with bits of blue sky and then wonderful white puffy clouds.  Gosh the sky is blue.  It's such a nice feeling to see the sun again after so incredibly long.  Driving thru Glacier was just fantastic to see.....especially with that blue sky and clouds.

Checkers Anyone
Gorgeous isn't it
We drove past the continental divide which was a little west of East Glacier Park.  I expected to see a big sign telling me this but there was none.   Driving thru Marias Pass it started to rain again.  Rats!  In that area, which is about 5,550 above sea level, there are many curves so the driving was a bit more difficult especially with our friend the rain.  Once past the pass it stopped raining and the scenery was just drop dead gorgeous.
Attention Attention - We have mountains!

I have no idea what this was but it looked interesting.  This was on the Blackfeet Reservation
(Sweat Lodge or Preparation for a Pow Wow??)

Marias Pass.  This is the only RV we saw going west with us.
Marias Pass with tons of curves

We arrived in Kalispell around 2:00pm, set everything up, called Joe and Kay and our mini vacation started. We will be here for about a week and it will be wonderful not having to move again. The truck seems to be doing well. Still won't start when it's warm but other than that it seems fine.

We all went out to dinner and tomorrow we are panning for gold. Have I ever paned for gold - that would be a no.
